We are THIS close to ending polio and YOU can help
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 30 years. Our goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever. There is no cure for polio, but it is preventable with a vaccine. Rotarians have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children in 122 countries, helping to reduce polio cases by 99.9% since 1988. Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan. In 2017, Rotary International committed $50 million per year over three years, with every dollar matched with two additional dollars by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This agreement will translate into $450 million for polio eradication, including immunization and surveillance. This critical funding helps to ensure countries around the world remain polio-free and that polio is ended in the three remaining countries. Through the Sheboygan Rotary Club American Flag Leasing Program, subscribers pay an annual fee of $50 to have a 3' X  5' flag displayed in your front yard or business. All flags are mounted on a 10 foot pole and uniformly placed on your property. Subscriptions cover five national holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Veteran's Day. Net proceeds from this fundraiser help our club to support local and international causes, including local youth scholarships. Gift subscriptions are available, which are a great way to honor a veteran in your family.

Restoration of our Trees Sheboygan (ROOTS) is a collaborative effort between Sheboygan Rotary Club and Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership (LNRP) to address the serious threat of the Emerald Ash Borer to Sheboygan County's rich forestry resources. ROOTS is seeking support from municipalities, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals. With your help, we can lessen EAB's impact and protect our beautiful woodlands and tree-lined streets for generations to come.
You Can Help...
The threat Emerald Ash Borer poses to our areas tree canopy has overwhelmed public agencies at all levels. Public resources and financial support are needed for reforestation planning, tree removal, replanting of diverse tree stocks, maintenance, and even public education and engagement. Please consider how you can contribute to saving and reviving Sheboygan County's landscape.
To be successful in our efforts of improving public awareness, engagement and support for urban forest management, we need community members to join us in volunteering. Volunteers will:
* Conduct tree inventories around Sheboygan County
* Monitor ash tree populations
*Replant new trees
